長毛兔鼻炎的發(fā)生是不可避免的 ，但是可以人為的控制病情的發(fā)生及加重！長毛兔鼻炎防治是長毛兔養(yǎng)殖者更頭痛的事情，養(yǎng)過長毛兔的人大都知道一種更常見的病就是--鼻炎，也是更棘手的、更頑固的一種??！

其實(shí)在肉兔、獺兔上也有鼻炎，只是沒有長毛兔這么易感、這么頑固，主要原因是：長毛兔在長毛、剪毛等時(shí)候兔毛必然會伸到鼻孔里面，刺激鼻腔黏膜；每次剪毛前后兔體溫度差別比較大，而沒有很好的保溫措施；而95% 以上的兔子鼻黏膜上面附有巴氏桿菌，巴氏桿菌又是條件性致病菌，所以長毛兔比獺兔、肉兔更容易感染巴氏桿菌。在這里會有一個(gè)循環(huán)，不管是什么兔子在得了鼻炎后又沒有很好的，也沒有根除發(fā)病原因的時(shí)候，病原就會有上呼吸道轉(zhuǎn)到下呼吸到，引起肺炎。所有的兔子得鼻炎的時(shí)候剛開始時(shí)鼻孔里是沒有分泌物的，但是在長時(shí)間得不到的時(shí)候會在鼻孔里面出現(xiàn)白色的膿汁，這表示已經(jīng)發(fā)展成肺炎了，肺部化膿，通過打噴嚏帶出部分的膿汁，它還是傳染源。
